Is there Public Ferry or Kaito going to Yi O?
Unfortunately, Currently there is no kaito or public ferry going to Yi O, passengers should be careful not to take the unlicensed ferry or kaito, as you may need to bear legal responsibility.
However, you may still charter Splitdyboat Licensed Speedboat to Yi O Pier, our speedboat comes with the endorsement given by the Director of Marine on their Operating Licences showing that they may be let for hire or reward.
Please note that in Hong Kong, Public Ferry is licensed by the Hong Kong Transport Department. Normally, if you are taking a licensed ferry, there are usually relevant information posted by the Transport Department on the boat.

Chartering a Speedboat directly from Tai O Bridge to Yi O Pier
There is no public transport to Yi O, Yi O has a pier, called Yi O Pier, our speedboat from Tai O Bridge will board directly at the Yi O Pier.
(1) Make a booking to Yi O on Splitdyboat’s website in advance
Splitdyboat provides pair-up service and speedboat charter service for you going to Yi O.
(2) Take a Bus to Tai O
Take Bus 11 (to Tai O) from Tung Chung Town Centre, Alight at Tai O Bus Terminus, and Go to Tai O Bridge to meet our boatman.
(3)Arrive at Tai O Bridge before the actual departure time
Please arrive before the actual departure time and Meet our boatman in Tai O Bridge, our boatman will take you from Tai O Bridge to Yi O, it takes around 5 minutes to arrive at Yi O Pier, where you will see a beautiful beach and a temple.

(2022-08-08) CEDD Signed Contract for Reconstruction of Yi O Pier
The Civil Engineering and Development Department signed a works contract of about HK$138.41 million on 3 August 2022 with Kat Yue Construction Engineering Limited. The works include the demolition of the existing Ma Wan Chung Pier, construction of a new pier with a floating platform each at Yi O Pier and Ma Wan Chung Pier, including provision of ancillary facilities such as roof cover, lighting system, benches, solar panels, Wi-Fi device. This 30-month works contract commenced on 8 August 2022.
